Droid Tycoon Mythic Droids Explained

Mythic is the newest droid rarity, sitting above Legendary and below the event-only Iconics. They are the strongest earners in the game right now and they are required to push the highest rebirths. Here is what they are, where you need them, what they cost to max, and whether they are worth chasing.

What Mythic droids are

Mythics were added in the latest update as a tier above Legendary. There are 11 of them, spread across all three types, and at Beskar they out-earn everything short of an Iconic. The top earner, IG, pulls roughly 139K/s at Beskar, about four times what a maxed Legendary makes. The full lineup, ranked by Beskar income:

Where you need them

Mythics are not optional flavour, they are gating requirements for the deep end of the game. They show up across the final rebirth steps (roughly rebirth 23 through 27) in every cycle, often at lower tiers like Diamond or Rainbow rather than Beskar. That is good news: a rebirth that asks for a Diamond Mythic is far cheaper than maxing it. Check the exact tier each cycle wants on the rebirth requirements page before you sink chips into one.

What they cost to max

This is the catch. Mythic upgrade chips are brutally expensive: 8,000, then 15,000, then 40,000, then 80,000 chips to go Base to Beskar, about 143,000 chips total for a single droid. For comparison a Legendary costs around 17,600 over the same climb. So a fully maxed Mythic is a long-term project, not something you rush.

Are they worth chasing?

For raw base income, yes, a Beskar Mythic is the best non-Iconic slot-filler in the game. But because the chip cost is so steep, the smart play is to let your rebirth requirements drive which Mythics you upgrade, and only to the tier you actually need. Max the one your current cycle gates on, place your best Mythic in your highest-income slot, and leave the rest at the tier their requirement asks for until you are swimming in chips. The update also added a new Iconic droid, R2-D2, which (like all Iconics) is event-locked and earns a flat 15% per second rather than following the normal tier curve.
